Welcome to the 2023-24 SHAHA Hockey Season! We cannot wait to see you at the rink!

Remembering Ryan Gricar

If you have not heard, it is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Ryan Gricar. Ryan was a devoted referee with the SHAHA family, whose passion for hockey extended into his work in youth referee development. His dedication to teaching and fostering the skills of our young referees was unmatched, and he left an indelible mark on the organization and the referee community.

In recognition of Ryan’s significant contributions, a donation has been made on behalf of all SHAHA members. However, we encourage others to consider contributing to support Ryan’s young family.

 

2023 Season Kickoff and Mite Placements

We’re thrilled to announce that our upcoming season will officially commence on August 1st, 2023 with regular practice slots for Squirt through Midget.

As part of the preparations, we are also gearing up for the Mite placements. Here’s the tentative schedule – more information will be distributed directly to families:

Red Team: August 20th, August 21st

White and Blue Teams: August 22nd, August 26th, August 27th

Let’s gear up for a thrilling season ahead, and remember, every day is a great day for hockey!

 

SHAHA Gear Store Now Open/ Equipment

Get your game face on and make sure you’re decked out in your SHAHA colors! The SHAHA gear store is officially open until August 6th, 2023. Visit https://www.shaha.org/shaha-panthers-uniforms-gear-swag/ to check out our extensive collection. Make sure to order your gear soon! Mite families, don’t worry! We will be running another one in late August/Early September once your numbers are set!

Practice jerseys have been distributed to team managers, and uniform orders should be shipping shortly! Late uniform orders will ship towards end of August.

REMINDER Snack Bar Monitoring:

The YMCA Grab and go has 24Hr active security monitoring with high-definition cameras.  The facility reserves the right to sanction anyone caught shoplifting.  Please monitor and remind your children.

YMCA Update

Lastly, we are excited to report that the YMCA is looking fantastic! Boards and glass have been improved, the ice is looking great, and we are looking forward to its continued development. We’re proud to be a partner with the Spencer YMCA, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
